There are many misconceptions and unknowns of when these codes are applicable, and when they are not being used, revenue for time spent is lost. This session will discuss the ins and outs of the prolonged services available for inpatient, outpatient, and office visits. These are timed codes, so they cannot be used if medical decision making, but in the cases when an exorbitant of time is spent on a patient encounter, it is important that the provider is paid for their time and services.
